Life’s an adventure! Chapters of my own include corporate lawyer, documentary filmmaker and legal recruiter; I’ve been an advocate in every role I’ve had which makes me uniquely qualified to represent you. Since 2008 I’ve been placing lawyers in law firms throughout the world, and since January 2012, my focus has been on the California legal market. Allow my experience to help you create the next chapter of your story.
I graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. As a recruiter in Sydney, Australia, I placed Australian and New Zealand lawyers in UK and Middle Eastern roles. Prior to working in the recruitment field in the US I was a corporate lawyer with Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison in New York. More recently, I worked at two California legal search firms before founding ATB. In my spare time I enjoy hiking with my dog Joey, meditation and yoga.
I truly believe we are the architects of our own careers. No two legal careers are the same, and I’m dedicated to assisting you make the next career move that is satisfying both professionally and personally. With experience practicing law at both a major international law firm and within the public sector, I am committed to helping you find an opportunity that is at once challenging, rewarding, and meaningful.
Before becoming a legal recruiter, I spent five years practicing law at Latham & Watkins LLP, focusing on complex business litigation. I received my Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California, and majored in Political Science and Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley. I have a strong interest in public interest work and, from time to time, also work for a non-profit, representing indigent individuals needing legal assistance in the criminal justice system. I spend my free time on my yoga mat, in the ocean, and globetrotting in search of the world’s finest waves.
I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. My undergraduate studies took me to Kirksville, Missouri to attend Truman State University where I majored in Philosophy and Religion with an emphasis in cult studies. Yes, you read that correctly. Cult studies. After undergrad, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do so I elected to continue my education at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law where I earned my Juris Doctorate degree. For my final year of law school, I moved to Los Angeles to do a visiting semester at UCLA focused on entertainment law and then to work for a semester.
After working in a variety of legal positions spanning class and mass action law, LGBT rights litigation, and automotive defense work, I decided that I wanted to use the many skills I had honed in law school in a non-traditional manner, which led me to legal recruiting and Above The Bar! When not at work, I love listening to music, exploring new places, hiking, running, and photography.
Never stop exploring – every voyage is a teacher. My own journey started in Los Angeles (born and raised). Curious for a change, I went to Amherst College in Massachusetts, where I majored in English and took time to study abroad in the Dominican Republic. Overseas, I volunteered at an orphanage where children faced disadvantages because of injustices within the legal system. These observations motivated me to attend law school and earn my Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine. There, I was heavily involved with the Refugee and Asylum Law Clinic, stepping into the role of Assistant Director when I graduated. I later joined the BARBRI Group to help students pass the bar exam.
I enjoy helping other people, which is what attracts me to legal recruiting. I am excited about finding fulfilling opportunities for attorneys that will both advance their careers and allow them time for the things they love. For me, that means being with family and friends, practicing yoga, hiking, and cooking.
